Private Label and White Label fashion, made in Italy.

Identify Italian manufacturing partners for custom apparel, footwear, bags, leather goods, accessories, and jewelry, with capabilities ranging from product adaptation to full development.

Private Label sourcing is a development process, not simply a request to place a logo on an existing item. Successful projects align design, materials, construction, quantities, target costs, timing, and brand requirements before production begins.

Private Label versus White Label

Terminology varies by supplier. In general, White Label may refer to existing or supplier-developed products offered with the buyer’s branding and selected modifications. Private Label often involves a deeper level of customization, which may include exclusive models, patterns, colors, materials, components, labels, packaging, and production specifications.

Possible services

  • Design interpretation and technical feasibility review.
  • Pattern making, modeling, prototyping, and sample development.
  • Material, trim, hardware, component, and color selection.
  • Size grading, fit review, and pre-production approval.
  • Custom labels, hangtags, packaging, and product presentation.
  • Production planning, quality control, and repeat orders.

Not every manufacturer provides every service. Some require complete technical packs, while others can support the buyer from an early concept. Minimum order quantities and development costs depend on the category, complexity, materials, and production method.

Italian fashion manufacturing and skilled production
Private Label projects require clear specifications, approved samples, and disciplined communication between brand and manufacturer.

Prepare before contacting manufacturers

Brands should provide a concise development brief with product type, reference images or drawings, technical specifications, target retail and ex-factory price, materials, colorways, size range, expected quantities, launch date, delivery destination, and packaging requirements. When information is preliminary, state which elements are fixed and which remain open to supplier recommendations.

Sampling and production control

A prototype or sales sample should be evaluated against documented requirements. Confirm how changes are recorded, who approves materials, how production tolerances are handled, and whether a pre-production sample is required. For repeatability, final decisions should be captured in an agreed specification rather than left in informal messages.

Commercial fit matters

The most prestigious supplier is not automatically the best partner. The correct match is a manufacturer whose product specialization, equipment, craftsmanship, order structure, service level, and cost model align with the project. ItalianModa helps brands identify candidates and contact them directly.
